"Hot & Spicy"
"Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder"
The NARS Bronzer and Blush duos along with the Lorac duos are in my make-up rotation and I am always pleased with their outcome. Unfortunately, for some people $40 can be hard on the pocket book. I heard numerous positive reviews about the E.L.F. duo and how inexpensive it was and I decided to put it to the test. First, I have to say that I am product snob (for name brands) in most cases. Normally, I would never purchase mass products (except mascara), but there is a first time for everything. I had a hard time finding it, but once I did it WAS cheap. I tried it and personally, I think it’s a bit powdery and the blush side is a little shimmery, but for $3??? C’mon… it is very comparable to the NARS (Orgasm/Laguna) and for a VERY small fraction of the price. E.L.F. Contouring Blush & Bronzer Powder exceeded my expectations for it’s low price and it’s almost impossible to tell the difference. I would say it’s a steal!
I have now told you my top 5 favorite blush/bronzer duos according to price. So, I guess I had better give you an idea of how and when to use them and who should be wearing what colors. It’s time to get down to basics with skin tone. Most women automatically reach for the pink or rosey tones, which is ok, but just know that peaches or corals may compliment your skin tone better.
First, you have to determine whether you are a cool or warm skin tone. There will be some of you that are neutrals. You are considered lucky, because you can pull off colors more easily than most people.
Here is a chart to help you determined:
Now that you know the under tone of your skin, whether it be cool, warm or neutral, remember this important bit of information. This will become very useful for choosing the right make-up, hair color, and also with wardrobe lessons later on. Anyway, back to the blush and bronzer application tips.
First, you’ll want the bronzer on the outer parts of your cheeks toward your ears down under your cheekbones. This will accentuate them and give the illusion of higher cheekbones. You can also dust the bronzer on the outer corners of your forehead and jaw as well for a more slimming or narrowing affect.
Apply bronzer in red highlighted areas
Now, the blush you just want to apply to the apples of your cheeks. This will give you the most youthful and rested looked. The apples of the cheeks are most full, round parts of your cheeks right below your eyes. That’s where you want your POP of color!
Apply blush according to face shape
The celebrities below used some of the products I mentioned and are a good visual example of the outcome you can achieve. Rosey, peachy, or just beachy bronzed… I hope this was a helpful tool for you Beauties to get a flirty sun-kissed look!
